Values & Behaviours

Our Values & Behaviours

We are a values-led organisation with staff & volunteers required to demonstrate the following:-

  • Lead – all staff have the opportunity to lead, whether it be a team, project or some other opportunity; where the ability to lead by example, use clear instructions, demonstrate integrity and demonstrate resilience are essential.
  • Learn – the learning journey does not end and there are opportunities to participate in formal learning, CPD and quite simply learning from our experiences.
  • Contribute – a charity like ours thrives on the willingness of individuals to contribute regularly and consistently.  It’s not just about productivity, but the ability to help the organisation to improve so that we can make things even better for our beneficiaries.
  • Care – if you don’t care you are unlikely to do a good job and make critical mistakes.  The people and organisations that we work with will know if we are not authentic.   We work with vulnerable people and we should be ensuring that we operate safely.
  • Respond – in every sense of the word, we expect staff to respond to feedback, respond to emails & respond to a crisis.  We expect this to be done constructively and within a timely manner.
  • Respect – this is something that is essential to developing good working relations internally and externally.   It’s evident in language, it’s evident in how we physically behave and it’s evident in the expectations of others.
  • Innovate – the biggest investment and expenditure for our charity is people.  One of the things that we encourage is for staff and volunteers to help us to develop our services and find new ways of working smarter.
  • Focus – a lack of focus means that people and partners do not get the service that they deserve.  Focus enables us to work smart and achieve the end goal efficiently…more often than not, improving the lives of others.
  • Measure – we need to regularly demonstrate our outputs, value for money and social impact.   Measuring helps us to hold each other to account, make improvements and highlight what a fantastic organisation we are.  It also enable us to develop individuals and secure the contracts and funding to sustain our work.
