Junction

Junction is a community centre in the heart of Chelmsley Wood.  It is used to deliver a broad range of work by staff and volunteers at Colebridge Trust, such as health & wellbeing groups and employability programmes.  The space is also used by other community voluntary and community sector organisations who deliver health & wellbeing activities to local residents.

Junction offers a safe, friendly environment and ensure all of our users and clients are treated as individuals.

Community Garden

Come and visit our community garden, located behind Junction. We have raised funding to transform the once derelict space as a  peaceful spot for rest and relaxation.  The garden is maintained by volunteers and we are still continuing to develop this outdoor space.

Junction has a hall for hire. This versatile space is been used for dance classes, martial arts classes, quiz nights, parties, training and consultation events. Discounted rates are available for smaller charities and constituted groups.  To enquire about bookings, please call 0121 448 0720 or use our contact form

The History & Future of Junction

The former Chapelhouse Boys Club was burnt down in an alleged arson incident in 2010.  The covenant on the land transferred from Birmingham City Council to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council when Solihull received borough status has ensured that the space has remained as a community asset.  Furthermore, Colebridge Trust has painstakingly raised funding to refurbish the funding, even utilising a large amount of its own charitable reserves, as well as other resources.  The site also houses the Around Again Shop, with thanks to Solihull Community Housing, SCH partners and West Midlands Police Crime Commissioner support & funding.

In 2018, The Colebridge Trust started developing a strategy to increase the capacity of the building, its sustainability and offer even more opportunity to the local community.  Community consultation has been carried our in 2018 / 2019 and architects have developed a potential scheme that would add meeting space, working space, community hall space and create an attractive asset that would build upon the work already put in.  Similar facilities have been developed across the UK utilising community asset transfer policy and support from key organisations.

Colebridge Trust thanks the local community, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Solihull Community Housing,  Locality and other partners for their continued support with Junction.  We look forward to moving this much needed project forward in 2020!
