August was a busy month of partnership working, community connection and local support.
To support the growth of the Solihull Community Network, Colebridge Trust partnered with The Active Wellbeing Society to launch a new website and Twitter account, helping keep residents, groups and organisations connected and informed.
The first Big Chats have now taken place via Zoom, bringing together residents, service providers, ward members and community groups to discuss local issues, including open spaces and transport. These conversations are an important part of ensuring community voices help shape local priorities.
Colebridge Trust and Around Again welcomed local MP Saqib Bhatti on 1 August 2020. The MP for Meriden supported the team by helping unload a generous food donation from charity partners Sewa Day.
The Sewa Day team also presented Saqib and Colebridge staff with heart-shaped gifts and dates in recognition of Raksha Bandhan, a Hindu celebration of sisterhood and brotherhood — a meaningful moment highlighting community spirit and togetherness.
