September 2024

  • Community Anchor Organisation – The trust has secured a 3 year contract to work in partnership with Three Trees, Cars Area Together and Solihull Council to further the development of community work in North Solihull.
  • WorkWell – We are delighted to have secured a new contract with BSol ICB to deliver employment support as part of the new WorkWell initiative.  The North Solihull focussed programme will help people with health conditions to retain work or secure new work.  There will be health interventions that are delivered in partnership with the NHS and other service providers.
  • New Appointment – Paul Sykes has joined Colebridge Trust as Head of Employment and Skills & Inclusion.  He brings with him over 15 years of experience and will lead on the work at the packing & assembly social enterprise, in addition to managing the team.

  • We have volunteering opportunities at our assembly and packing social enterprise in Chelmsley Wood. 1st April 2024

  • Collaborating with partners Three Trees and Cars Area Together, we are delighted to have secured 3 years funding to deliver the “Health in the Heart of Our Community” project.  This project will directly link community centre activities and members of the community for the purposes of preventing and managing poor heart health and related issues; as well as supporting conditions such as CPD.  We will be recruiting community volunteers to act as champions and help support our community in North Solihull.

  • The trust is working with West Midlands Combined Authority and Power to Change to develop a North Solihull Social Economy Cluster as part of our inclusive growth work.

  • Our AGM will take place at Three Trees Community Centre, Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham, B37 7TR at 5.30pm on Wednesday, 13th March 2024.

  • Colebridge Trust will be leading one of 8 social enterprise clusters in partnership with West Midlands Combined Authority, Power to Change and Solihull Council.   Colebridge has agreed to work with Chelmsley Wood based, Development in Social Enterprise to help develop the social economy in North Solihull.

  • We’ve submitted exciting outline plans to Solihull Council to turn Junction into a community-led housing site and deliver a fit-for-the-future community centre.  We’re working with partners WMuCH, who have successfully developed housing in Stirchley, Birmingham.

  • It’s official, Colebridge trust are running the one and only community-led family hub in Solihull.   Evergreen in Kingshurst is the result of many years work to turn an old building into a vital community service.  We’d like to thank Yorkswood headteachers / governors past and present for supporting this.  Fantastic to be working with Public Health on something that will make a positive difference.

  • Two more of our young mentees with additional needs have completed the next stage of their work-based training and been rewarded with employment contracts.  Another step towards long-term employment.

  • To support the growth of the Solihull Community Network, Colebridge Trust and The Active Wellbeing Society have partnered to launch a website and twitter account, to help keep people connected and informed.  The first Big Chats have taken place via Zoom with a number of residents, service providers, ward members and groups coming together to discuss issues relating to open spaces and transport.

3rd August 2020

  • Colebridge Trust and Around Again welcomed local MP Saqib Bhatti on 1st August 2020.   The MP for Meriden supported the team with unloading a fantastic food donation from charity partners Sewa Day.  The Sewa Day team presented Saqib and Colebridge staff with heart shaped gifts and dates, in recognition of Raksha Bandhand a Hindu celebration of sisterhood / brotherhood.

  • The Trust is aiming to improve health and wellbeing in Solihull by developing “The Crowd” – residents, groups, organisations who wish to encourage people to become active, included, happy and healthy.   The first 500 people to register will be entered into a draw for £250 worth of  sports equipment.  Please register your interest via active@colebridge.org  – The draw will take place by 31st August 2020
  • The employment and skills team are carrying out face-to-face appointments from Junction, by appointment only.  Since March 2020 we have helped over 50 people into employment. To contact the employment and skills team, please call 0121 448 0720 or email jobs@colebridge.org
  • We’re looking to support 40+ health and wellbeing organisations & groups to improve their reach and become more inclusive via a funded programme.  Please contact gemmaa@colebridge.org
  • Assembly and Packing at our inclusive social enterprise, Unit 21 has been resumed in July 2020.  Staff and volunteers are working to strict health and safety rules and we hope to be back supporting our inclusion participants by August 2020.  Are you looking for work experience or an inclusion activity?  Please email jobs@colebridge.org and quote “Unit 21”
  • Around Again, social supermarket has suspended membership donations; changed hours of operation; and is working in partnership with other groups and organisations to distribute food in North Solihull wards.
